This page describes how IQ Score Level works. It is not legal advice.

IQ Score Level gives a free estimate of reasoning ability. It is useful as a rough guide, and nothing more. Please read what it is not.

Is the test a clinical assessment?

No. Our test is not a clinical, educational or employment assessment. It is a short online test, taken without supervision. A clinical test is given by a trained examiner and covers far more.

Can the test diagnose anything?

No. A score from this site is not a diagnosis of any condition. Any diagnosis, including intellectual disability, needs a full assessment by a qualified professional. That assessment looks at everyday skills as well as reasoning.

Can the test qualify me for Mensa?

No. Mensa accepts only approved, supervised tests. It does not accept unsupervised internet tests, including ours. Our Mensa IQ test page explains the accepted routes.

How exact is my score?

Your score is an estimate, shown with a range. The range shows how uncertain it is. The test measures best in the middle of the scale, and least well at the ends. Our methodology gives the full details.

Is anything on the site advice?

No. Nothing on the site is medical, psychological, legal or financial advice. Our pages explain what is known about IQ tests, with sources. For advice about your own situation, please see a licensed professional.

Are the articles always correct?

We work hard to keep every article correct. Facts are checked against primary sources, and numbers are computed by code. Still, mistakes can happen. If you find one, please tell us through the contact page, and we will correct it in public.

No. The site shows no ads at present. If ads are added later, they will be chosen and shown by Google, not by us. Links to outside sites are there so you can check our sources, not because we endorse those sites.

Where can I get a formal assessment?

A licensed psychologist can give a formal assessment. Our page on what an IQ test costs explains the routes and what to ask.
